Mohonasen welcomed back its students with open arms on the first day of school, September 4.
This is an exciting time at Mohonasen. The district is currently celebrating the 50th anniversary of the construction of Pinewood school, along with the 50th graduating class. Special events are scheduled all year long.
Additionally, last year, Mohonasen residents overwhelmingly approved a $21.9 million capital project that is allowing for renovations and upgrades to be made to the district’s four schools. The Board of Education is currently making plans for a second capital project that would allow the district to add Universal Pre-Kindergarten and full-day kindergarten, as well as a new “high-tech” wing at the high school. With these projects, Mohonasen is prepped to become a world-class school district of the 21st Century.
The district was also recently honored by the EPA for its energy conservation program. Our schools are among the top 25 percent of facilities in the country in the area of energy performance, and energy consumption has been reduced by more than 20 percent over the last two years.
It's an exciting time and will prove to be an exciting year for all staff, students and parents in the Mohonasen school district. Have a great year!
