Pinewood Fiddlers wow audience at Saratoga Dance Flurry...again!
February 2008
For
the fourth year in a row, students in the Pinewood Orchestra wowed
music and dance lovers alike at the Saratoga Dance Flurry over
President’s Day weekend, February 15-17.
The Dance Flurry is an annual event that draws families from all
over the entire United States. It is held over President’s Day
weekend each year in the Saratoga City Hotel, the Convention Center
and many other venues in the city of Saratoga.
The Pinewood Fiddlers (the Pinewood Orchestra), directed by Mrs.
Beth Putnam, went up early on February 15, to learn contra dancing,
Zydego, swing dancing, and their favorite—HAMBO—a Swedish county
dance. The Pinewood Fiddlers made Mohonasen proud as they performed
an old Celtic tune, “I’ll Tell My Ma.” Our students even taught some
people in the audience to play the instruments!
