Picture of Mohonasen students dancingOn Wednesday, March 5, approximately 30 students were immersed in a high energy Latin dance class after school.

AlbanySalsa.Com Dance Studio’s Felix Ortiz came to Mohonasen High School to teach students—and some teachers— about salsa, which is growing in popularity in the Capital Region.

The Latin dance class was just one of the activities surrounded by Foreign Language Week, March 3-9.

In addition to the Latin dance class, the high school morning announcements were announced in a variety of languages, such as Punjabi, German (which was announced by German foreign exchange student Steven Gering), Arabic and French. The high school also played music from Puerto Rico, Germany, France, the Middle East and Italy. The French honor society also sold crepes in the high school store, “The Trading Post.”
