SADD students raise awareness about how drinking and driving affects everyone
June 5, 2008
On
Thursday, June 5, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
organized an activity to make Mohonasen High School students more
aware of how drinking and driving affects everyone.
In the United States, someone dies in a drinking and driving
accident every 20 minutes. Throughout the day on June 5, a Mohonasen
student’s name was announced over the loudspeaker every 20 minutes
as a symbol of the destructive decision of drinking and driving. At
that time, the student left their class for a few minutes to change
into all black clothing. The student would then hang a sign around
their neck stating how people around them would be affected if they
were killed in a drunk-driving accident.
The following is a list of students and teachers who were involved
in the SADD activity: Brian Roscoe, Mike Hitchcock, Mckenzie Aviza,
Lindsey Griesemer, Molly Bergin, Devis Ceci, Mike Campana, Joe
Watroba, Cody Ogilvie, Erin Barnes, Audrey Sabatini, Garret Sisson,
Skylar Aviza, Briana Corradi, Kevin Eckl, Mrs. Panetta, Bob Buskey,
Kiera O’Dwyer, Sergeant Culbert and Mrs. Carroll.
