Mrs. Bartlett
About Mrs. Bartlett
I grew up in Rotterdam and graduated from Mohonasen High School. While at Mohonasen, I played girls volleyball and basketball. I was an active member of the Key Club and National Honor Society. In my free time I learned how to downhill ski and was an avid Adirondack Red Wings fan (I realize this dates me). The teachers that had the largest impact on me were Mr. Thornton (10th Grade English), Mrs. Constantino (Geometry) and Mr. Riservato (Chemistry). I had the professional pleasure to also work with Mrs. Constantino and Mr. Riservato when I joined the Mohonasen Faculty.
After High School, I attended Union College and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English. From there I went to graduate school at George Washington University in Washington D.C. I was in the Elliott School of International Politics and graduated with a Master's degree in International Affairs with concentrations in American Diplomacy and European Politics. My career aspirations were to either work for the United States State Department or the Central Intelligence Agency. After living in Washington D.C., I learned that I did not enjoy the cut throat atmosphere and decided to return to my love for skiing and worked in the marketing and ski school departments at Killington in Vermont.
During the off season at Killington I began to volunteer in my mother's elementary school classroom at Hamilton Elementary School in Schenectady, NY. This was a turning point because I realized how rewarding the teaching profession could be and decided to get my teaching certificate for secondary education in the field of Social Studies. Since then, I have never regretted my decision to join the field of education rather than politics and look forward to the years ahead with Rotterdam's teenagers.
Now, I am married and we have a three year old son named Sampson and a dog named Barley. I prefer cross country to downhill skiing and am an avid New York Yankees fan.
