Jaime Murray's Studio in Art Homework Page

Studio in Art Deadlines:

Each quarter students are required to complete one homework assignment, relevant to current practice. All homework assignments are worth 100 points. Failure to complete an assignment can significantly lower a quarterly average.

 

Quarter 1

Students will be given the "Design Packet" which includes several pen and ink technique samples. They will be asked to complete six ink columns of invented designs that increase in value from boxes 1-5.

 

Quarter 2

Students will be asked to complete 10 "Facial Feature" sketches with ten values each in order to achieve a heightened sense of realism.

 

Quarter 3

At various times students will be asked to bring home their portraits (with palettes and brushes ) to complete the task. First, they are required to meet the 25% requirement; next 50% and finally 100%.

 

Quarter 4

The quarter four assignment is subject to change. Students are required to update their vocabulary note cards in order to review for their final exam. In the past, students were asked to draw a metallic cylinder with at least five values.

 

Note: Every incomplete class project becomes homework for students.
