Student Artist of the Month, April 2010
Rachel Suflita
Rachel
Suflita is a sophomore currently enrolled in Drawing and Painting
with Mrs. Murray. She successfully completed her half-year
Ceramics course with Mr. York and is looking forward to taking
Advanced Drawing and Painting (Portfolio), and Sculpture
next school year. Rachel shares a deep love for all things
artistic, and it shows. This accomplished dancer studies ballet,
hip hop, jazz, lyrical jazz, and contemporary styles of dance. At
four hour sessions, twice a week, She hopes her hard work will
earn her a position student teaching dance in 2010. Rachel has
participated in "Mohon Masque" (the theatre department), and is a
member of both the Spanish and National Honor Societies.
Rachel fell in love with fine arts during Studio in Art class. She has a great rapport with Mr. York, and considers him a mentor. Despite her dance talent, Rachel is considering a future in graphic and web design. At home, Rachel practices her digital photography with her personal printer and computer.
The following images provide just a glimpse into Rachel's art talent. She is a great painter, sculptor and photographer, three reasons that earned her April's "Artist of the Month."
