The five mandatory Regents exams...
If you score less than a 65 on any Regents exam, this schedule of required retakes must be followed
Beginning with the Class of 2005, no student at
Mohonasen will be considered eligible for a local diploma unless they
have made two or three attempts on any required Regents exams where
they scored less than a 65. This new policy is part of a district-wide
push to get all students working towards a Regents diploma.
A very specific schedule of required re-takes for each of the five
mandatory Regents exams is provided below. Students and parents alike
need to pay careful attention to this schedule since it may jeopardize
graduation if students have not shown persistence and effort at
re-taking these critical exams.
All of the five required Regents exams are offered annually in
January, June and August so there are multiple opportunities for
students to get extra help and then retake the exams to improve their
grades.

Keep in mind that there are plenty of ways to get extra help preparing
for these exams. Students taking exams in June or January should be
taking advantage of Regents review sessions held during tenth-period.
Look for the schedule of classes on the High School Web or ask your
teacher! Summer Regents review classes are also offered for students
who will be re-taking exams in August. Attendance at these review
sessions -- as well as enrolling in academic support lab(s) at the
high school -- can help you raise your grade significantly! Ask your
guidance counselor if you have questions or need extra help.
