Today we continued to finalize our sculptures by building up our forms through adding news paper to the body. Pictures to come soon !
Meeting # 6 11-15-11
Today we continued the wire frame and started to give our creatures definition by adding rolled newspaper to the wire thus adding form.
Meeting # 5 11-08-11
Today we focused on creating the wire frame, skeletal structure of our
animals. We started by twisting some metal, like a twist tie, then attached legs and tails and wings etc. Mr. Blais also showed a cool video on the sculptor Alexander Calder and his Wire Circus Video:

Meeting #4 11-01-11
Today's Art Club Meeting we focused on finalizing our drawings and
getting them ready to start our sculptures. We also focused on colors
and added some to our drawings to give us a better idea of what our sculptures would look like. Lastly we drew a picture of our animal in a
slightly different position to help us during the sculpture phase.
Meeting # 3: 10-25-11
The third meeting, we started to work on our Salvadore Dali Animal projects.
Everyone brought in photos of animals. We started to work on our Salvadore Dali Animal projects. To get inspired, we watched a video on unique animals:

The second meeting we voted on Treasurer and Secretary. 0-18-11of animals. We started to work on ourpan>S
2nd Meeting: 10-18-11discussed our first project: Salvadore Dali Animals. Our homework
for next class will be to print out a color photograph of an animal and
an insect that you would like to merge into a new breed of creature. Make sure to bring in a sketchbook and or some paper and a pencil to get your ideas down on paper. Once we have our
creatures drawn we will then begin to sculpt them using wire, paper mache, etc.

This year's Art Club has finally kicked off and I am psyched to have an astounding number of members. If attendance remains this high we may even split the group into two sessions one on Tuesday's and another on Thursdays.
