PE Make-Ups
*PE Make-ups are are completed by attending
intramurals unless
assigned something different by the individual's PE Teacher.
Possible reasons why A PE class may have to be
made-up:
1. Medical Excuses
A medical excuse will be granted whenever a note from a DOCTOR is
brought TO THE NURSE. The classes missed will not have to be made up,
and the student’s grade will be based on the classes attended.
2. Parent Notes / Nurse’s Excuse
At the nurse’s discretion, a student may be excused from participating
in class by a note from a parent. Self-limiting may be written on the
excuse. If so, the student will be expected to change and participate in
class to the best of his/her abilities under the circumstances. Students
may also be excused from class, if they become ill during the school
day. Anytime a one day nurse’s excuse is given, THE CLASSES WILL HAVE TO
BE MADE UP. Classes can be made up by attending 2 intramurals and all 3
points will be added to your grade. (1.5 points earned for each session
attended).
3. School Related Absences
School related absences such as speech lessons, guidance visits, field
trips or music lessons will not have to be made up. The student should
bring a pass to their Physical Education teacher that will excuse their
absence (Other students should not be relied on to get this information
to the teacher).
4. Absence
Three (3) free absences, which include internal and external suspension,
with no make-up requirement will be given each semester. The student
should get any written work missed during the next class they attend.
Any absence over 3 can be made up by attending 2 intramurals (1.5 points
earned for each session attended).
5. Unprepared
If a student comes to class without a change of clothes, but is wearing
sneakers, they will be allowed to participate in class that day and earn
1.5 of their daily points. If a student has no sneakers they will
receive 0 points for the day.
