 About our Program

The Technology Education program at Draper Middle School is aimed at exposing our students to the world of technology and the application of math and science to the solution of problems.

 

The program’s goals are to:

  • Introduce students to the various types of technologies.

  • Develop student’s skills in the use of current "state of the art" technology tools used in industry.

  • Develop student’s interpersonal skills by working with teams of other students to develop and construct projects.

 

History of Project Lead the Way

In September 2000, Draper Middle School began implementing an exciting new curriculum for the Technology Department. The curriculum was developed by Project Lead the Way, a national organization for pre-engineering education. The high school curriculum has been very successful in Mohonasen High School since it began in 1997. The middle school technology program consists of 40 weeks of instruction in the following areas.

  • Unit 3- The Magic of Electrons

  • Unit 4- Automation and Robotics
