February 8 -Printmaking: We have been learning about different types of printmaking, as well as artists, and cultures that have created prints. Our focus has been mainly on wood cut and screen printing. We designed logos and self-portraits to create our own prints. Check out this great website that we have been using: What is a Print?
February 1 -Virtual Critique: We have been learning about how to talk about artwork, what is a critique?, and how to navigate a webpage. Since we are incorporating art and technology in this class we each gave a 'virtual critique' of artwork from my teacher webpage. Each student had to give verbal instructions to the class so that they could navigate to the artwork that they were critiquing. Once we were all looking at the chosen artwork- the student presented why they chose the work, what they think is working, what they think could have been improved upon, and any additional thoughts on the piece. We had many great discussions!
