Joseph Salamone is running for his second term on the Board of Education.
Salamone has been a resident of the district for more than 17 years, and is a 2005 graduate of Mohonasen.
Salamone is currently a junior at the State University of New York at Albany, majoring in Public Policy and Management, with a concentration in Policy Analysis. He aspires to attain a degree in law.
In his capacity as school board member, he has had the opportunity to attend three NYSSBA Annual
Conferences and has served both as a member of the Capital Area School Boards Association and a State Legislative Network Representative for the District.
While at Mohonasen, Salamone was president of the Mohonasen Marching Band and
was active in Boy Scouts of America. He recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Salamone and his family are parishioners at St. Gabriel's Church in Rotterdam. His older brother, Frank, is a Mohonasen graduate and student at Hofstra Law School, and his younger brother, Michael is in sixth-grade at Draper Middle School.
“There are many challenging and exciting tasks I want to see through to completion and issues I want to help our district resolve,” said Salamone. “My family and Mohonasen provided me with the foundation to succeed, and I want to continue giving back to our community.”
