Administrative costs much less than Governor claims

In a recent interview, Governor Paterson said
that on average, 71 percent of school costs are administrative. The
fact is, the average cost of all personnel in any given district is
about 70 percent - justified by the fact that schools are basically
in the "people business." At Mohonasen, costs for personnel
accounted for about 70.9 percent of the budget last year, with eight
percent of that going toward administrative costs.
