WHEN: TUESDAY, MAY 15 – 7 A.M. TO 9
P.M.
WHERE: Mohonasen High School Gym (Use Pool
Entrance)
WHO:
All qualified voters. To vote in a school election, you
must be a U.S. citizen, age 18 or older and a resident
of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the
election.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS are available to residents who will be out of town or unable to vote in person due to illness or disability. Call 356-8210 for more information.
Voters will need to sign
registry
Again this year, voters will need to sign their name and
address before voting in district elections.
This
year, voters can pre-register at the Budget Hearing on
Monday, May 7 starting at 5 p.m.
A list
of names and addresses of residents who voted in last
May’s elections have been cross-checked with district
tax roles. Returning voters will be asked to sign their
name and address next to their name before voting this
year.
Residents who did not vote in last May’s elections can
still vote, but they will be asked to show their
driver’s license/photo ID as identification and fill out
an affidavit attesting to their residency and other
voting qualifications listed below. Their names will
then be added to next year’s registry. (Note: if a
driver’s license address isn’t current, voters should
bring a current utility bill with their name on it to
show as proof of residency.)
Nothing
in prior elections indicated any voting irregularities.
However, Mohonasen is proactively working to tighten
controls to build public confidence in the process and
make it harder for abuses to occur in the future.
