District sets final 2010 tax rates Changes in equalization rates affect final tax rates

Mohonasen budget approved by voters

On Tuesday, May 18, Mohonasen residents voted to approve the district's 2010-2011 proposed budget with 1323 voting in favor and 881 voting against it. The $42.7 million budget carries a 0.8 percent spending increase over the current year and a 2.3 percent increase in the tax levy.

Voters also approved two propositions:

  • A $390,000 proposition to purchase seven 21-22 passenger buses, with 1358 voting in favor and 835 voting against it.

  • A proposition to purchase 36-acres of land with $1.425 million from the district's capital reserve fund, with 1118 voting in favor and 1077 voting against it.

Two of three candidates were also elected to the Mohonasen Board of Education. Voters elected Mark Sabatini  (1487 votes) and re-elected Dominic Cafarelli  (1356 votes). Michael Godlewski  was not elected, with 1128 votes.
