Welcome to Our 2ND Grade Class!

     Welcome to Mrs. Halvorsen's second grade class.  We do many exciting things in second grade. To find out more information about our class, please select one of the links on the left.

     We go outside almost every day, please make sure your child has a coat, hat, and gloves.  Please check our newsletter for this months riddle.      

Sentences:
simile - uses as and as to compare two things (usually non-human to human).  She is as busy as a bee.
onomatopoeia - a sound word   The washer machine went ding!
commas in a series - a list of things in a sentence  My father plowed, shoveled, and salted the driveway.
compound sentence - use a conjunction to join two smaller complete sentences together
My favorite subject is math but, I really like art.
