Weather and The Seasons

Themes in our weather unit consist of types of weather, temperature, wind, and how clouds form. We also work with thermometers, and learn how to read temperature.

This fall, we will learn about weather and The Four Seasons:

Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.

We began visiting Science Lab with Mrs. Lynch.

 

 

Animals and Their Habitats

This year we will explore animals' habitats. A habitat is a place where am animal lives. We will study different habitats around the world, such as the rainforests and oceans.

We will make dioramas on animal habitats for a special science project. These will be displayed throughout the hallways of Bradt School!

 

 

Balancing and Weighing

Our unit on balancing and weighing takes place in the spring. We complete many science labs throughout this unit, and make several observations using  scales, as well as other tools and materials.

 

Solids and Liquids

We work on differentiating between these two properties of matter in science lab. Students will continue to learn about this theme in second grade, when they begin the Changes unit in the fall, which focuses on all types of matter, solids, liquids, and gases.
