Family Involvement
There are many ways parents can get involved in their child's education. Volunteer in the classroom.
Parents or other family members are encouraged to volunteer once a week, twice a month, or once a month to assist with centers, or help in the computer lab. There will be a sign-up at Open House in September. Homework.
Home Study Guides will be sent home weekly, and Monthly Homework Calendars will be sent home at the beginning of each month. Additional practice may also be sent home sometimes. Your help in practicing and reinforcing the skills we are working on is invaluable, and fun, too! P.T.O.
We are so fortunate here at Bradt to have a very active PTO. The monthly meetings rotate between Bradt and Pinewood, and baby sitting is available. The meetings are an excellent way to keep informed about school and district happenings, and also a great way to get involved. Help is welcomed in many capacities, and even if you are only able to devote a small amount of time, you can really make a difference for our kids. Hope to see you at the meetings! Read to your child.
Studies show that the most important impact you can have on your child's education is by reading to him/her daily. Visit our local library for books, or get involved in our 1,000 Book Child Project, where bags of books may be borrowed at Bradt School. Happy reading! Computer.
There are many excellent websites out there which offer lots of fun ways for students to learn and have fun at the same time.
