Bradt Primary School Library
Overdue and Damaged Library Materials
The students at Bradt Primary School have the privilege of borrowing library books each week during their library class. All materials circulate for one week and should be returned to the library on the next week's library class day.
Kindergarteners may borrow one book per week, while first and second graders may borrow two books per week. All items borrowed must be returned in good condition on their due dates. Items may be renewed for one additional week. Since items may be borrowed for one week, on the eighth day they are considered overdue. Although the student is given overdue notices as a reminder after the item is one week overdue, we do not charge a late fee. If a student does not return library materials for thirty or more days, a letter is sent home via U.S. mail indicating the title of the book and the replacement cost. At this time borrowing privileges are suspended until the item is either returned in good condition or the replacement cost is paid. If a borrowed item is returned damaged, a letter is sent home via U.S. mail requesting the replacement cost for the item. Borrowing privileges are again suspended until the replacement cost has been paid. After the replacement cost is paid, the ruined materials are given to the student.
