This year your child will complete one of the most important milestone of his/her life-their first year of school.

 

CHARACTER EDUCATION

 

Every month I will be visiting your child's classroom for Character Education. The monthly themes are located on my Character Awards link. The Character Education program at Bradt School is designed to strengthen the home-school connection and show how important it is for families to reinforce good character at home.

 

 

We Are a Bucket Filling School

 

This all school program is based on the children's book, Have You Filled a BucketToday? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids. Please refer to the Bucket Fillers link for more information on how you and your family can be bucket fillers.

 

Peacemaking Skills for Little Kids: I Care Cat

 

Starting in late January I will be visiting your child's Kindergarten class to talk to students about the Peacemaking Skills Program, I Care Cat. I Care Cat teaches students 5 I Care Cat rules which help students to become better peacemakers at school and at home. The 5 I Care Cat rules are:

  • We listen to each other

  • Hands are for helping, not hurting

  • We use I Care language

  • We care about each other's feelings

  • We are responsible for what we say and do
