The Friendship Club-Social Skills
Social skills are an important part of a child's development. Many children at the elementary level have a hard time making and keeping friends. Research has shown that there is a high correlation between social and academic behavior. Children with strong social skills experience fewer adjustment problems both as students and as adults. For these reasons I am forming a social group called, The Friendship Club. The Friendship Club is an excellent opportunity for students to get together during school hours to learn about:
Cooperation
Communication
Self-control
Manners
Respect
Learning a variety of friend-making skills.
These strategies will be addressed through fun learning activities such as art projects, board games, songs, physical activities, arts and crafts as well as other creative activities.
When does The Friendship Club meet?
First and second grade Friendship Club will start in November and run for 4-6 weeks.
Most groups include approximately 4-6 children
How do I sign my child up for The Friendship Club?
Students must have parent/guardian permission to participate in The Friendship Club. If you would like to sign your child up please contact me by phone at 356-8416 or email me at bdinicola@mohonasen.org.
