Character Awards

What are the Character Awards?

There is a new Character Education program at Bradt School this year called, The Character Awards. The Character Awards are designed to strengthen the home-school connection and show how important it is for families to reinforce good character at home. Every month our school will focus on one designated theme (examples include: respect, responsibility, thankfulness, friendship, caring, etc.). I plan on visiting every classroom once a month to talk about these themes through a book, worksheet, song or creative activity. Faculty and staff members will follow through by giving certificates to students who are displaying the theme of the month. Students will then put their award into the character treasure box located in the front of the school. Every award will be read on the morning announcements and the student's picture and awards will be placed on the character awards bulletin board located right outside the cafeteria. 

 

We encourage you to talk as a family about our character themes and discuss ways these themes can be displayed at home, in school and in the community.  We understand it is hard to juggle everything going in life; including trying to model and teach behaviors that your children can learn from. We want you to know that your hard work is not going unnoticed. Keep it up, and help us make character count at Bradt School.
