Urgent
need for bus drivers —
Looking for a part-time job with flexible hours? Like many
schools around the region, Mohonasen is facing a serious
shortage of bus drivers. If you or someone you know
might be interested in a part-time job, please contact
our Transportation Department at 356-8260. Mohonasen
provides free training for the required CDL Class B
license. Our bus drivers typically work two shifts each
day, from 6:45-8:45 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. There is also need
for a driver interested in working a 2:30-4:30 p.m.
shift only. The beginning salary is $12.06/hour (plus
health benefits for those working 20 hours/week). This
is a great job for reliable drivers who like working
with kids in our community and could use a part-time
income. Recently retired? Many of our current bus
drivers say the job keeps them busy -- but not too busy
to enjoy their retirement! For more information or to apply contact Transportation
Supervisor Randy
Jerreld at
356-8260.

for a school transportation supervisor is always safety.
Mohonasen's new transportation supervisor Randy Jerreld
brings with him more than seven years experience in
school transportation and a strong desire to keep
Mohonasen's transportation department running smoothly.
"In my short time working here, I've learned that this
department is a well-oiled machine and the employees are
very dedicated to their jobs," he said. "But, there's
always room for improvement in every job."

A
word about late buses
—
If your son or daughter is catching one of the after
school "late buses" home, please be advised
that their arrival home is sometimes later than you
might ordinarily expect. You can always call the
Transportation Department if you're worried, but
availability of after school drivers and incidents or
delays from the regular afternoon bus run sometimes
contribute to "late bus" delays. We appreciate
your patience in this matter.
Rehearse
a plan!
If your child gets on the wrong bus... From time
to time young children will make a mistake and get on
the wrong bus at the end of the school day. Please tell
your child not to panic and never to get off the bus at
the wrong stop. All they need to do is tell the driver
as soon as they realize the mistake and she/he will
drive them to their correct bus stop at the end of the
route.
If school closes early due to snow or another
emergency... Please make sure your child knows what
to do if he/she arrives home unexpectedly and your not
there!
