Mohonasen
Superintendent Dr. L. Oliver Robinson and High School Principal Lisa
Cutting accepted a "Best Practice Award"
from the Schenectady County Chamber of Commerce in 2003 for programs that
incorporate high academic standards with career and technical
education. Mohonasen was recognized by the Chamber as one of only 11
sites in the state to pilot the national High Schools That Work school
improvement model -- the only school reform initiative shown
to boost student achievement in a study of 1,100 schools in 26
states. Mohonasen's reputation as a leader in school-to-careers
programming helped forge a promising partnership with State
Farm Insurance. The company provided a $25,000 grant
to support High Schools That Work initiatives at Mohonasen.
