EIGHTH-GRADERS
SCHEDULE HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES FOR NEXT YEAR — On January 30, eighth-grade students and their parents
were invited to Grade 8 Information Night. Additionally,
students in grades 9-11 were invited to attend the Career Pathways Presentation.
Both programs had a great turnout and guidance
counselors received very useful feedback. Current
eighth-graders scheduled their high school
class electives for next year on February 4 and 6. Download
the PowerPoint presentation used at Grade 8
Information Night. Also, be sure to download
an eighth-grade scheduling sheet!

LESS THAN 65 ON A REQUIRED REGENTS EXAM? KNOW THE
SCHEDULE OF REQUIRED RETAKES!
-- All
of the five required Regents exams are offered annually
in January, June and August so there are multiple
opportunities for students to get extra help and then
retake the exams to improve their grades. Read
more here about Mohonasen's very specific schedule
of required retakes for each of the five mandatory
Regents exams. Students and parents alike need to pay
careful attention to this schedule since it may
jeopardize graduation if students have not shown

VISIT THE
COUNSELING AND CAREER CENTER! --
Mohonasen
High School students should feel free to contact their high school
counselor any time they have questions or need assistance. Appointments
should be made through the secretaries who work in the Counseling and
Career Center office. Students are also encouraged to visit the waiting
area of the Counseling and Career Center to get all kinds of useful
information such as local job openings, college catalogs, scholarship
applications, SAT test dates and more. The Career Center Library (next to
the Counseling and Career Center) is also a good resource for students
(and parents!) who want to do college and career research.
