Eighty students and
teachers competed in a swim-bike-run triathlon at Draper Middle School on Saturday,
September 27, 2003. Some athletes participated in the event as individuals (all
three events) while others worked as two- or three-member teams, dividing
up the events. Scenes

The best time for Draper's
Triathlon course was posted by Mr. "Blazin" Blais with a combined time
of 15 minutes and 23 seconds. Eighth-grader Pat Grasso took the overall
Individual Boys gold medal with a time of 16:53.2. Valerie Dunn took Individual
Gold for the girls with a time of 21:23.4. The Overall winning Boys Team was the
combination of seventh-graders Ryan Michaniw and Brian Kirker which finished in
18:13.9. The team of McKensie Aviza, Michelle Aviza, and Melissa Sullivan took
top honors in the girls team event, finishing in 18:26.2.
Special
mention should be given to Taylor Ralbovsky who took a gold in the seventh-grade
boys division and posted an excellent score of 17:18.4. Honorable mention also
goes to the team of Mr. "Screamin'" Hays, Ms. "Giga Speed'"
Geagan, and Mr. "Crankin'" Carter for their combined time of 21:14.7.
Gold, silver, and bronze medals were also given in individual grade level
categories, listed below. The school thanks Mohonasen's Varsity Cross Country
Team and the Varsity Girls Swim team who officiated the entire Triathlon.
