Will
your child be entering kindergarten in September of
2008? Mark your calendars so you don't forget about
these very important dates!
|

Registration
Children who will be
five years old by December 1, 2008 are eligible to begin kindergarten in
September 2008. The school typically sends out registration packets in January
to parents of children who are eligible to attend. There is no need to call
the school to schedule registration UNLESS you fail to receive a kindergarten
packet in early January.

9-11:30 a.m. and 12-2 p.m.

Kindergarten Parent
Orientation
Orientation for parents
of incoming kindergartners will take place on April 30, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the
Bradt Cafeteria. This is an opportunity to hear about
our kindergarten program, expectations for students and to ask questions.

Kindergarten Screening
Kindergarten screening
will be held May 6-9, 2008 for children who will begin kindergarten in the
fall of 2008. The screening will be held at Bradt Primary School on Hamburg
Street in Rotterdam.

|
Kindergarten Tours
Tours will be offered
for next year's kindergartners on June 3, 4, and 5, 2008. This is a great
chance for your child to check out his or her new school, hear a story from the
librarian, have a snack and take a practice ride on the bus. Don't miss it!

Meet Your Teacher &
Classmates
You're almost there!
The final orientation for incoming kindergartners will take place in September
2008 at Bradt -- information to come. Come visit your classroom and meet your teacher and classmates
right before the official start of school.

And don't forget...
The best way to prepare
your child for kindergarten is to read with him or her on a daily basis. Bradt
Primary School offers the 1000 Book Child Project to help jumpstart a child's
love of reading. Read more here. Bradt also
encourages parents to use the Kindergarten Tool Kits that will be
distributed at the April 5th parent orientation meeting.
